All the happenings in March ' 08 (week 2) part B

5/3 wed: today i went out with say haow to find part job together.. we meet juncti8n.. then we started window shopping for any job offers.. that's 1 Swensen's walk-in- interview at 2pm.. but.. the malls that we live beside already have Swensen le mah.. so what for go bishan for a job where i can get it in sengkang or marine parade?.. lolz... then there's alot more.. but all we dun have much interests too.. i guess my intention is not to earn more cash.. but it's to kill some time.. so.. i guess i won't do retail jobs..

we end up giving up on juncti8n and see which bus we can go to our destinations which we haven't decided yet..erm.. yup.. i pushed him to go Fort Canning Park to visit the war memorial there.. and he agreed! weee.. we end up in Fort Canning in 1 hr later.. lol.. we walked way up to almost the top.. then found the correct direction.. thanks to say haow.. then how i noe it's called the Battle Box..

when we asked the personnel abt the pricing.. it's 8 DOLLARS PER PAX.. i faint.. as i am deciding whether to waste these $8 (my 2 meals) or not and sayhaow encourage me that he will go in with me even though he has went 2 yrs back.. we went in again.. the personnel appoach us and told us "how about $5 per pax.. i noe u are still students.. $5 will do.. " i am surprised by that.. after all i am really very curious about this.. so we paid and make our trip down to the underground dungeon aka war museum.. before it rains..

Place of Interest Review: The Battle Box is today a unique war museum, enhanced with specially crafted wax figures, animatronics, and audio-visual effects. By visiting the bunker you will be brought back in time to that morning in 1942, and will experience a unique insight into the last few hours before the historic surrender.

basically the above paragraph is a small description i copied from the brochure i received lah.. lol.. from my own opinion.. it's really amazing how well the wax figures are built and costumed.. they look so real that both say haow and me felt so eerrie abit that place.. haha..

first up, when we went in.. we are welcomed by our tour guide of the day, she guide us to join her groups of tourists.. we joined and were issued a headphone each.. the sound of narration will all come from the headphone.. so when we pass from room to room.. the guide will just need to press on the button in the room.. (following the sequences of tour).. it's really very real to see some of the figures moving.. although is automated.. but it's still TOO real to be true.. oh MAN.. i am so astonished by that..

immersing myself in the realm of history seems alittle boring after awhile.. after a 20mins tour.. we are feel free to walk around as long as we like.. it's good lah.. free and easy.. then the personnel told us.. it's raining heavy.. so asking us muz as well walk abit longer.. tell the rain got smaller.. (that's no shelter from the dungeon to the admin office up the ground).. so we toured around the mini museum of the treaty- signed.. timelines of events.. history of battle box etcs.. the air filtration and escape hatch.. say haow told me that the escape hatch last time is digged by the british soldiers then we then came in thru that hole for de first time.. it's all filled with water.. so they need to remove all the water and clear the path so that they can escape when something crops up.. there's a stairs though..

after that.. we went to the sourvenir's shops.. it's expen.. yup.. i got leave my name and comment in the GUEST BOOK.. so anyone of you who might be visiting here after 5 MAR can refer to my name there.. WOOHOO.. so honour to written my name.. like such an impt guest like that.. also the book looks so grand too mah.. lol..:)
(END)

after that we have a long conversation talked with the personnel.. he is in the age of 30's.. last time is a chef.. he manages the battle box for over 5 yrs already.. wow.. it's like you treat that like your house liao.. spend some much time and effort on that.. really so respect him.. he told us to study hard enough so that when we go out to find jobs when upon graduation.. we can get a decent job.. then he encourage sayhaow becoz of his poor last sem results.. we chatted for like 1 hr.. while resting in their airconditioner- admin office till the rain stopped..

it's really sad to leave him.. but we really need to go off.. it's somehow getting late.. but still.. we go off and went to Funan digitalife mall at city hall by train.. to window shop before i recommend him a nice food court which offers very yum yum and affordable food.. but dun worry.. there will be no food review this time round.. i only ate vege rice.. lol.. 3 veges and rice..:(.. next time.. i will eat some good food in that food court and even capture some shots for your to see.. :)..

we go off around 7 to leave separately after shopping in Penisular Plaza for their shoes.. ANY 1 OUT THERE WANT TO ACCOMPANY ME BACK TO THERE TO REAL SERIOUS SHOP?.. i that day not intend to buy anything mah.. next mth before sch starts i will try to go back to take a serious look at these clothes shops..:)
